Unique Opportunity:

Soul Shoppe seeks a highly qualified board members to help build on its strong history and team to bring its impact and influence to the next level. The co-founder and current Executive Director (Winner of Packard Foundation-Ashoka Changemakers “Building Empathy” Award, Fellow for Dalai Lama Center for Transformative Values & Ethics at MIT) is actively supportive of bringing in highly qualified people to help enhance Soul Shoppe’s public profile, bring in additional resources, and help achieve higher levels of organizational excellence.

Deeply Important Work:

Soul Shoppe brings emotional learning and empathy learning programs/experiences to schools and school communities. In a time marked by increasing degrees of polarization and disconnection at our highest levels of public discourse, this work holds a vital piece of a more positive future for young people and communities.

Strong History and Alliances:

Soul Shoppe is a nearly 20 year-old Bay area based organization whose programs reach more than 60,000 students a year. They have continuing relationships with many schools and have established relationships with the Golden State Warriors, the San Francisco Giants, and other significant Bay Area franchises.

A Sound Financial Platform:

Over its history, Soul Shoppe has been largely self-funded – earning revenues from schools for programs they deliver. This gives Soul Shoppe a fantastic opportunity to utilize new resources to expand impact, as well as improve financial support and career opportunities for its dedicated staff.

The Opportunity :

Soul Shoppe’s existing strengths mean that new resources would be highly leveraged, and perceived impact per dollar higher than most non-profit situations, making for a compelling fundraising ‘pitch’. Presence and relationships in the community are strong. The need and the message are compelling – even profound.

For the right person/people this is a rare opportunity to build on a strong base and reputation to drive expanded impact in an area of deep importance. Do you know such a person? Are you such a person?
